C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 3 is a member of the class A rhodopsin-like G protein-coupled receptor family encoded by the CXCR3 gene. It is a seven-transmembrane cell surface receptor that binds interferon-inducible chemokines including CXCL9, CXCL10, and CXCL11, primarily coupling to Gi proteins to regulate intracellular signaling and cell migration. CXCR3 is predominantly expressed on activated T lymphocytes, natural killer cells, and subsets of other leukocytes, where it directs trafficking to sites of inflammation and immune activation. Alternative splicing generates receptor isoforms with distinct expression patterns and signaling properties.
