C-C motif chemokine receptor 1 is a member of the class A rhodopsin-like G protein-coupled receptor family encoded by the CCR1 gene. It is a seven-transmembrane cell surface receptor that binds several CC chemokines including CCL3, CCL5, CCL7, CCL14, CCL15, CCL16, and CCL23, primarily signaling through Gi proteins to regulate calcium mobilization, integrin activation, and directed leukocyte migration. CCR1 is expressed mainly on monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, eosinophils, and subsets of lymphocytes, where it contributes to recruitment of immune cells during inflammatory responses. Receptor signaling is modulated through phosphorylation-dependent desensitization and internalization after ligand stimulation.
