Tetraspanin-15 is a member of the tetraspanin superfamily, which comprises small integral membrane proteins containing four transmembrane domains. It contributes to the organization of membrane microdomains and forms complexes with other cell surface proteins. TSPAN15 interacts with the metalloprotease ADAM10, influencing its surface expression and potentially modulating proteolytic activity. It is expressed in multiple tissues, with enhanced expression in the gastrointestinal tract, bone marrow, and cerebral cortex.
