CEACAM5 is a lipid-anchored cell surface glycoprotein and part of the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family. CEACAM5 is involved in cell adhesion through interactions with other members of the CEA family. CEACAM5 also promotes tumor development and is associated with gastrointestinal cancers.
