CD47 is a multi-pass transmembrane protein. CD47 plays a role in cell adhesion by binding thrombospondin. CD47 may also be involved in membrane transport and signal transduction. CD47 is expressed in a variety of tissues and is involved in immune response, memory formation, and synaptic plasticity in the hippocampus.
