CD2 is a single-pass transmembrane protein and surface antigen present on all peripheral blood T-cells. CD2 mediates adhesion between T-cells and other cell types through interactions with CD48/BCM1 and CD58. Specifically, CD2 interacts with CD58 on antigen-presenting cells to optimize immune recognition.
