Specificity Profile More Information

The specificity of PMP22 Monoclonal Antibody (CSB0199) was tested on the Membrane Proteome Array® and shown to be specific for human PMP22.

The Membrane Proteome Array® contains 6,000 different human membrane proteins, each expressed in unfixed avian cells to ensure native conformation and post-translational modifications. The Membrane Proteome Array® represents the industry standard for determining the binding specificity of antibodies and other protein ligands.

Flow Cytometry, Extracellular Live, Unpermeabilized 1 µg/ml
JS-1 cells transiently transfected with human PMP22 were stained with PMP22 Monoclonal Antibody (CSB0199) (green) or isotype control antibody (gray), followed by AlexaFluor 647- conjugated anti-Mouse IgG secondary antibody. JS-1 cells transiently transfected with an empty control vector were also stained with PMP22 Monoclonal Antibody (CSB0199) (blue).

Peripheral myelin protein 22 is a member of the PMP-22/EMP/MP20/Claudin superfamily of tetra-span integral membrane proteins. The protein contains four transmembrane helices with two extracellular loops and cytoplasmic N- and C-termini and is localized to compact myelin in the peripheral nervous system. PMP22 is produced by Schwann cells and contributes to myelin sheath structure and stability. Expression data indicate predominant enrichment in peripheral nerve tissue.
