The specificity of PERP Monoclonal Antibody (CSB0200) was tested on the Membrane Proteome Array® and shown to be specific for human PERP. The Membrane Proteome Array® contains 6,000 different human membrane proteins, each expressed in unfixed avian cells to ensure native conformation and post-translational modifications. The Membrane Proteome Array® represents the industry standard for determining the binding specificity of antibodies and other protein ligands. |

PERP apoptosis effector is a tetra-span integral membrane protein belonging to the PMP-22/EMP/MP20/Claudin superfamily. The protein contains four transmembrane helices with cytoplasmic N- and C-termini and localizes to the plasma membrane, where it associates with desmosomal complexes. PERP is a transcriptional target of TP53 and TP63 and contributes to epithelial cell–cell adhesion and regulation of apoptosis. Expression is detected in epithelial tissues, consistent with its role in maintaining desmosome integrity.
