Specificity Profile | More Information |
The specificity of IL6R Monoclonal Antibody (CSB0072) was tested on the Membrane Proteome Array™ and shown to be specific for human IL6R. The Membrane Proteome Array™ contains 6,000 different human membrane proteins, each expressed in unfixed human cells to ensure native conformation and post-translational modifications. The Membrane Proteome Array™ represents the industry standard for determining the binding specificity of antibodies and other protein ligands. |

IL6R is a single-pass transmembrane protein and part of the receptor for IL6. IL6R needs to associate with IL6ST to transduce a signal. The membrane-bound form of IL6R has primarily anti-inflammatory effects, while the soluble form of IL6R contributes to the pro-inflammatory effects of IL6. IL6R and IL6 are involved in multiple myeloma, autoimmune diseases, chronic inflammatory diseases, and prostate cancer. (NCBI Gene: 3570, UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot: P08887).
