F3 is a cell surface glycoprotein with extracellular, transmembrane, and cytoplasmic domains that binds coagulation factor VII, initiating the coagulation protease cascade. F3 is involved with HIV-associated coagulopathy, and platelet-dependent monocyte expression of this gene is associated with COVID-19 severity and mortality.
