The specificity of Claudin-19 Monoclonal Antibody (CSB0175) was tested on the Membrane Proteome Array® and shown to be specific for human Claudin-19. The Membrane Proteome Array® contains 6,000 different human membrane proteins, each expressed in unfixed human cells to ensure native conformation and post-translational modifications. The Membrane Proteome Array® represents the industry standard for determining the binding specificity of antibodies and other protein ligands. |

Claudin 19 is a member of the claudin family of tetraspan integral membrane proteins that are core structural components of tight junction strands. The protein contains four transmembrane helices with cytoplasmic N- and C-termini and two extracellular loops that contribute to paracellular barrier properties and ion selectivity. CLDN19 localizes to tight junctions in epithelial cells and is expressed in kidney and ocular tissues. Expression data support enrichment in kidney and eye, consistent with its role in epithelial barrier function. (NCBI Gene: 149461, UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot: Q8N6F1) Other names: CLDN19, Claudin 19
