The specificity of CD206 Monoclonal Antibody (CSB0194) was tested on the Membrane Proteome Array® and shown to be specific for human CD206. The Membrane Proteome Array® contains 6,000 different human membrane proteins, each expressed in unfixed human cells to ensure native conformation and post-translational modifications. The Membrane Proteome Array® represents the industry standard for determining the binding specificity of antibodies and other protein ligands. |

CD206 or Macrophage mannose receptor 1 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the C-type lectin receptor family. The protein contains an N-terminal cysteine-rich domain, a fibronectin type II domain, multiple C-type lectin-like domains, a single transmembrane helix, and a short cytoplasmic tail. CD206 mediates calcium-dependent recognition and endocytosis of glycoproteins bearing terminal mannose, fucose, or N-acetylglucosamine residues and contributes to pathogen uptake and clearance. The receptor is primarily expressed on macrophages and dendritic cells and localizes to the plasma membrane and endosomal compartments.
