Specificity Profile | More Information |
The specificity of TNF Monoclonal Antibody (CSB0050) was tested on the Membrane Proteome Array™ and shown to be specific for human TNF. The Membrane Proteome Array™ contains 6,000 different human membrane proteins, each expressed in unfixed human cells to ensure native conformation and post-translational modifications. The Membrane Proteome Array™ represents the industry standard for determining the binding specificity of antibodies and other protein ligands. |

TNF is a single-pass transmembrane protein with a secreted form. TNF is a cytokine that is part of the tumor necrosis factor superfamily. TNF binds TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. Acting through its receptors, TNF has roles in cellular proliferation and differentiation, lipid metabolism, apoptosis, and coagulation. TNF is involved in cancer, autoimmune diseases, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, tuberculosis, insulin resistance, cerebral malaria, septic shock, autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease, and Alzheimer’s disease. (NCBI Gene: 7124, UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot: P01375). Other names: TNF-Alpha, TNFSF2, TNFA, DIF, TNF-A, APC1 protein, Cachectin, TNLG1F
