Specificity Profile More Information

The specificity of MAL Monoclonal Antibody (CSB0161) was tested on the Membrane Proteome Array® and shown to be specific for human MAL.

The Membrane Proteome Array® contains 6,000 different human membrane proteins, each expressed in unfixed human cells to ensure native conformation and post-translational modifications. The Membrane Proteome Array® represents the industry standard for determining the binding specificity of antibodies and other protein ligands.

Application Conditions Recommended Concentration
Flow Cytometry, Extracellular Live, Unpermeabilized 1 µg/ml
HEK-293F cells transiently transfected with human MAL were stained with MAL Monoclonal Antibody (CSB0161) (green) or isotype control antibody (gray), followed by AlexaFluor 647- conjugated anti-Mouse IgG secondary antibody. HEK-293F cells transiently transfected with an empty control vector were also stained with MAL Monoclonal Antibody (CSB0161) (blue).
Application Conditions Recommended Concentration
Immunofluorescence, Extracellular Fixed 4% paraformaldehyde 1 µg/ml
(Left) JS-1 cells transiently transfected human MAL were stained with MAL Monoclonal Antibody (CSB0161) followed by AlexaFluor 647 anti-Mouse IgG secondary antibody (red) and DAPI (blue). (Top right) JS-1 cells transiently transfected with an empty control vector stained with MAL Monoclonal Antibody. (Bottom right) Isotype control: JS-1 cells transfected with human MAL and stained with control MAb.

Myelin and lymphocyte protein (MAL) is a member of the MAL proteolipid protein family, characterized by its four transmembrane domains and localization to lipid raft microdomains. It is primarily expressed in T lymphocytes and polarized epithelial cells, where it plays a role in membrane trafficking and apical transport. MAL is also involved in the stabilization of membrane compartments and has been implicated in the formation of glycosphingolipid-enriched membranes. (NCBI Gene: 4118, UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot: P21145) Other names: Myelin And Lymphocyte Protein, T-cell differentiation protein MAL, VIP17
