The specificity of MAL Monoclonal Antibody (CSB0161) was tested on the Membrane Proteome Array® and shown to be specific for human MAL. The Membrane Proteome Array® contains 6,000 different human membrane proteins, each expressed in unfixed human cells to ensure native conformation and post-translational modifications. The Membrane Proteome Array® represents the industry standard for determining the binding specificity of antibodies and other protein ligands. |

Myelin and lymphocyte protein (MAL) is a member of the MAL proteolipid protein family, characterized by its four transmembrane domains and localization to lipid raft microdomains. It is primarily expressed in T lymphocytes and polarized epithelial cells, where it plays a role in membrane trafficking and apical transport. MAL is also involved in the stabilization of membrane compartments and has been implicated in the formation of glycosphingolipid-enriched membranes.
