Specificity Profile | More Information |
The specificity of HER3 Monoclonal Antibody (CSB0082) was tested on the Membrane Proteome Array™ and shown to be specific for human HER3. The Membrane Proteome Array™ contains 6,000 different human membrane proteins, each expressed in unfixed human cells to ensure native conformation and post-translational modifications. The Membrane Proteome Array™ represents the industry standard for determining the binding specificity of antibodies and other protein ligands. |

HER3 is a single-pass transmembrane protein and part of the epidermal growth factor receptor family of receptor tyrosine kinases. HER3 has a neuregulin binding domain but does not have a kinase domain and instead forms heterodimers with other EGFR family members, activating signaling pathways that cause cell proliferation or differentiation. HER3 is involved in myeloid cell differentiation. Amplification or overexpression of HER3 occurs in prostate, bladder, and breast tumors. (NCBI Gene: 2065, UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot: P21860).
